Website design is an area where you (the customer) can explore your creativity by providing a
design idea that D.A.R. Enterprises can put into practice. The sort of solution offered is normally only
limited by your imagination.
Before embarking on a web project you need to know that there are essentially two basic types of web site:

Static Web Site.
The content does not change as the user browses the various pages. This is the most common type of website.

Dynamic Web Site.
The content is affected by the user as they navigate the site and often requires database support. This also includes e-commerce sites.
A certain amount of information will be required from you before I start work on the website development:

Domain Name or Uniform Resource Locator (URL).
The first thing that is required, and arguably the most important is a unique domain name
which will form the basis of your website URL (Uniform Resource Locator). This URL is used to
identify your web presence. You can perform a domain name search on 1 and 1's
website to see if it has been used.

Website Content.
It would be useful if you had an idea of the content and layout of your website.
If you perform a bit of research on the web (if you have access to it) using a
search engine like Google
you can quickly establish the type of pages and content required. A simple
storyboard in the form of a Word document would be a very useful start.

Graphics.
If you have any graphics either on disk or in a scanner friendly format they can be
assimilated onto the website. D.A.R. Enterprises has access to a large collection of clipart which you can look
at if you do not have your own. These graphics can also be animated for enhanced effect.

Dynamic/E-Commerce Websites.
If you want D.A.R. Enterprises to design a dynamic website then we will need to know a
whole lot more about how the website content will change when the user interacts
with it.

Client Site Testing and Review
Please be prepared for site testing and review requests. These are very important as it ensures we are both heading in the right
direction.
The following are included in the web design package offered by D.A.R. Enterprises ...

Domain registration.
Your chosen domain will be registered for one year as an inclusive
item if D.A.R. Enterprises creates your website. Continuing registration will be covered if you decide
to take up the monthly maintenance option.

Hosting on D.A.R. Enterprises webspace.
This option is included if you decide to take up the
monthly maintenance option in my total web solution package.

Search Engine Submission or SEO.
The site will be submitted to all major search
engines for indexing as part of the set up cost. This step cannot be done until the website is
completed or near completion.
NB: Search engine submission is not instantaneous. It can take a few weeks or even months for the
search robots to index the page.
Whilst every effort will me made to make sure the search engines find your site there is no guaranteed position
that will be attained in Google.

Email Forwarding.
When you set up your own domain name you are able to send email
to anyname@yourdomain.co.uk. You can set up your email software to receive emails from each
of these names. However, you are also able to configure your website to forward all these
emails to your favourite a/c which might be hosted by AOL, Tiscali or Wanadoo.

Storage of Your Web Site Design.
Whether or not you take up the monthly maintenance option
your web site design files can be stored on D.A.R. Enterprises' computer for no charge. This enables me to make any
amendments to your design quickly to reduce the cost of updates.
D.A.R. Enterprises will normally quote two days for a web site with static content,
that is 5 or less pages long. A web site with more pages will have to be negotiated.
It is difficult to estimate the length of time it will take to develop a
dynamic web site with e-commerce facilities. But an involved client
design discussion should reveal this. Also the option for database support in your
website will incur slightly higher monthly maintenance charges.
NB: The quote is provided so you have an accurate assessment of your costs. The actual site devlopment time can be considerbaly longer. Factors such as
client feedback timelyness, supply of content, etc can extend the site development time greatly.
